Nursery Update

I still need to get decorations for the walls, paint circles on the plain walls and get a shaggy rug, but it is coming along. I like how bright and cheerful it is. Jay helped and did the hard part of putting the crib and set of drawers together.
Feel free to leave comments and suggestions for what I should put above the crib. I think anything too small would be "lost" in the stripes. I think it's going to need to be large and probably dark in color to stand out.

Very cute!! Above the bed? How about her monogram or name in big bubbly letters? :)

something large and simple- a huge mirror would look great!!

I was actually thinking to put a mirror above the dresser but maybe I should just put it above the crib. I am not very good at picking the right stuff out. It's hard for me to imagine in a store.

I think some kind of quote or maybe just one word in the "metal" art...i think white would still stand out ok agains the bold stripes Love it

I think a big metal or wood letter for the name would be cool above the crib. I was thinking something big like a picture or mirror might be dangerous in case it would fall, but I don't know that a metal/wood letter would be any less threatening :) The nursery looks FAB, by the way!!

Hmm....I kinda like the idea of a quote. We aren't telling the name so I can't hang the letter up there (I know my dad will guess it if we put up the first letter because he also knows it's an Irish name)

check out vinyl wall decor. i've never used it myself, but i'm looking for an excuse too. here's some on etsy: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=vl_other_1&listing_id=37556632. but i think you can find it @ places like hobby lobby, joann fabrics, lowes (look in wallpaper dept), etc. as someone mentioned quotes- vinyl wall decor is available in word form too. AND presumably can be easily removed if applied properly- so it wouldn't mess up your fabulous paint job.
very cheerful, cute and colorful room! well done. :)

ooo. check out this letter thing. you wouldn't have to give away the whole name- just the first letter. ;)

I totally agree with the quote. We are actually looking into doing that ourselves above our TV in the living room - we just haven't found the right one! Look up "Wall Quotes" for good ideas - there are so many websites with this stuff! You just have to decide which you like best!

I will have to check out hobby lobby. I like the "metal" idea versus the wood, but we shall see. My mom came up with a good quote so we might use that. Right now just waiting for payday to roll around again :o)
