Hmmm....

Jay doesn't like it when I spend more time quilting than with him....but does anyone see something wrong with this picture?? Wink

Americana Star

Last night I made my very own star and appliqued it on the flag. I know the star isn't perfect but I thought maybe it gave it a more homemade look which I definitely like. Hopefully tonight I can put the three layers together and stencil on some quilting templates and I should be ready to go! You can't tell in these pictures, but everything that appears white (or creamish) is actually a light creme with tons of gold sparkles in it. I wish you could see it better, but it definitely gives the quilt an Americana type feel to it.

The other photo is a wedding gift that we received. I thought it was beautiful and have it in the master bedroom with some candles around it.

Sparkling Ice

On the way home from work today I attempted to capture the beautiful ice. It was so brilliant at some points I could barely see to drive but it was gorgeous. With all the tree covered hills in northern Kentucky, it make the landscape seem almost like a fairy tale. A photograph really doesn't portray it very well but it is at least a hint of the beauty.

My Valentine!

I was afraid to drive to work this morning because I wasn't sure that I wanted to drive by myself. I am a terrible driver in the snow and ice. Just ask Dad. He had to come and dig me out of someone's front yard a few years ago. Of course, that was back when I had a Mustang. I have a more "snow worthy" car right now, but nonetheless Jay took me in.

When I arrived home, this huge card was sitting on my dresser. How cute! We plan to eat at Olive Garden tomorrow evening (probably along with a hundred other couples). Of course, I already gave him my Valentine when I took him to Gatlinburg TN as a surprise. Happy Valentine's Day!

Update on Stars and Stripes

It appears to be coming together. I have a couple other blocks done that I didn't put in this picture because I am not sure that I really like them that much. We will see.
