So I was planning on making a yellow and blue star and decided against it. This is what I came up with. Right now it's about a 50"x50" quilt but I don't think I am going to add a border on it. I kinda like how it is right now.

I'm Jodi and Lyndi's sister. I enjoy seeing what quilts you are working on. I think it's awesome that you quilt. Not a whole lot of people do. I'm finishing up a large one for a retired school teacher. I notice you do a lot of quilting on your lap. What kind of frame do you use? How do ypu keep everything smooth? If I am being too nosy, just ignore me.
Hey Heidi! Glad to meet another reader! I am an old traditional quilter. Once the quilt top is completed, I stretch the backing out on the floor, then put the batting on top of that and the quilt top on top of that. I make sure everything is ironed out and then I either baste it by hand or use a quilt basting gun. For large quilts, I usually baste by hand, which means using a BIG needle and huge stitches about 4-6 inches apart in all directions. This keeps the layers together so I can take the quilt with me wherever I go. I also rolls the ends up so the outer edge of the quilt doesn't start unraveling. I have two square "Q-snap" quilting frames that I use. I don't like the wooden ones because they aren't very sturdy and I like the square better also because most of my quilts are based on square blocks. Have a great day!
I love the flowers!!! Very dainty. You need to start trying to sell some of your quilts. I think you could make some good money off of them.
we finally bought a quilt for our bedroom. As much as I would have loved to do one myself...I just don't have the time now. Maybe one day. I know you will pick the quilt apart, because of the bigger stiches and the knots that are not pulled thru...but it is cute. Enjoy your quilting I am off to scrapbook. Gotten over 12 pages done this week!!!!
Very cute!!
Are you interested in making one for an old college friend??!!?? Pretty please =)
Funny! I think you have a sewing machine dear. And I KNOW you have at least two hands..wink!
